Dean's Fellows

Dean's Fellows

Dean’s Fellows in the Heider College of Business are a select group of students who experience the business community first-hand, including meetings with Dean Hendrickson every week during the freshman year. From here, Dean’s Fellows expand their business network through conversations with business executives and private tours of Fortune 500, innovative startups and other top companies. This hands-on leadership emphasis prepares Dean’s Fellows for top internships, gainful employment and a business network to carry into their professional future.

Other key elements include:

Round 1:
A minimum of 3.8 high school GPA on a 4.0 scale or a minimum ACT test score of 28 or SAT test score of 1300 (Math + Critical Reading).
Submit application by Sunday, January 5, 2021 at 11:59 PM (in your local time zone).

Round 2:
Complete an interview with a Heider faculty, staff or student through your choice of online or in person. Applicants will also complete an ethics case study challenge. More details will be provided later. Thirty students will be selected and notified in the beginning of March when other scholarship notifications go out.

Students apply to the Heider Fellows Program and are considered for the Dean’s Fellows and Menard Family Business Research Fellows congruently. Applicants are welcome to inform their interviewer of their preference but the program selection committee will make the ultimate decision. Students must only complete one interview and one ethics challenge for all programs and scholarships in the Heider College of Business. The results from the interview and challenge will be used for all considerations.

Waitlist:
Students placed on the waitlist may seek admission into the Heider Fellows Program after successful completion of their first semester in the Heider College of Business. Admission requires demonstrated success and alignment with minimum requirements of current Heider Fellows and an interview with the Dean’s Office.
