BE A HEIDER GRADUATE STUDENT.

You are ready to advance your career goals by earning a graduate degree from the Heider College of Business. Once accepted, you have the option to start your studies at five different times during the calendar year.

Haven’t taken your GMAT? No worries. Through our conditional application, you may register for two courses (six credit hours) before you take the GMAT.

Requirements

First, in order to apply, you must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Your undergraduate degree can be in any field of study.

You must show evidence that you’ve completed at least one undergraduate statistics course. Otherwise, you’ll need to complete a non-credit statistics tutorial at Creighton.

You must also submit:

  • Official GMAT score (unless exempt; see GMAT section this page)
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Official transcripts from colleges and universities attended
  • $50 application fee
  • Personal statement
  • Resume

Once you’ve gathered all of your materials, you’re ready to complete the online application.

Conditional Application

Want to get started right away on your graduate studies while you’re completing the formal application process? You can apply for conditional status, which allows you to take up to six credit hours of coursework before finalizing your formal application. This is a great option for those who haven’t yet taken the GMAT.

Please note that you may not register for classes until the registration period for formally admitted students has passed.

International Applicants

International applicants from countries in which English is not the primary language must demonstrate proficiency in English language by submitting a minimum TOEFL score of 80 iBT (213 CBT/550 PBT) or a minimum IELTS overall band score of 6.5 (no sub score lower than 6). International applicants who receive their baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited institution in the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or Africa (English-speaking only) are NOT required to submit a TOEFL score report.

GMAT

Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT)

Applicants to all graduate business programs must submit an official GMAT score report, unless they are covered by one of the GMAT exemption practices, listed below. When combined with the applicant’s cumulative higher education grade point average multiplied by 200, the applicant’s score must reach a minimum of 1100 points (GPA x 200 + GMAT total score = 1100).

The GMAT is administered by Pearson VUE. Further information about the GMAT may be obtained at mba.com.

GMAT Exemption Practices

The GMAT will be waived for applicants to the MBA, MSAPM, and MS-ITM programs who meet any of the following criteria:

  • GRE Performance: Applicants who have already taken the GRE may substitute their GRE performance for their GMAT score provided the applicant’s verbal plus quantitative GRE scores divided by two must equal at least 500 prior to April 2012 and at least 150 after April 2012 and the applicant must be above the 20th percentile in both categories.
  • Professional Graduate Degrees: Applicants who have earned a professional graduate degree including J.D., M.D., Ph.D., DDS, Ed.D., and Pharm.D.
  • Professional Certification: Applicants who have earned either the CPA or CFA certification (have at least passed Level 1 of the CFA).
  • Creighton Business Graduate: Applicants who have earned a BSBA degree from Creighton’s College of Business in the last 10 years and had at least a 3.5 overall GPA, plus at least a 3.75 GPA in all accounting, finance, and statistics courses.
