Biography

Dr. Mary Dana Laird is an associate professor of management in the Heider College of Business. Mary Dana was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. After graduating from Southwestern University, she worked for an educators’ union in Austin, TX. Mary Dana then earned a master’s degree in human resource management from Texas A&M University and worked in HR for Zale Corporation in Irving, TX. These experiences led her to Florida State University where she earned a doctorate in organizational behavior and human resource management. For the last ten years, Mary Dana has taught management classes to undergraduate and MBA students at the University of Tulsa. She is interested in stress, reputation, and organizational politics and has published 15 peer-reviewed articles in a variety of academic journals. In her free time, Mary Dana likes to hike, travel, and search for authentic Mexican food restaurants with her husband, Jim, and seven year old daughter, Julie.
