Fall 2019 Graduate Hooding Ceremony
Fall 2019 Graduate Hooding Ceremony
Thursday, December 12, 2019 - 5:30pm - 6:30pm

Graduates formally receive the academic hood representing their profession or degree program at our annual hooding ceremony.

Creighton Graduate Hooding CeremonyCandidates for degree completion then wear the academic hood as part of their academic attire to University Commencement. The academic hood is a symbolic piece of academic attire worn over the gown. It goes over the head and looks like a medieval hood draping over the shoulders and flowing down the back. It is made of velvet in the color of the profession. Candidates for graduate degrees proceed in academic attire, sit together and cross the stage as their names are read by the Master of Ceremony.
