Marketing encompasses all the activities that take place from the time an organization begins to develop its strategy and the product or service is conceived until the product or service is purchased by a customer. Thus, the study of marketing is of primary importance in business. This program is designed for students interested in preparing for the general field of marketing or for those wishing to prepare for specific careers in retailing, industrial marketing, advertising, sales management, and marketing research.

Plan of Study

Marketing students take such diverse courses as advertising and promotion, consumer behavior, marketing research and Internet marketing. In addition to traditional coursework, many students augment their educational experience through internships and part-time employment.

Most marketing graduates begin their careers as either a sales or marketing trainee in a wide variety of industries, such as pharmaceuticals, banking, insurance, retail and consumer product companies.  Opportunities are abundant in marketing and Creighton graduates are successful in finding jobs that closely match their career goals.

The average starting salary for a 2012 Creighton graduate in Marketing was $40,000.
