Heider Dean's Fellows Program

Overview

The Heider Dean’s Fellows Program delivers a premier set of experiences designed for a select group of student leaders wishing to incorporate the business environment into everyday student life.

It provides students with unique opportunities and challenges to enhance their undergraduate experience in the Heider College of Business. The program fosters a community of high-achieving business leaders, uniquely positioning Heider Fellows for specialized internships and future job placement.

Heider Dean’s Fellows graduate as confident, connected and socially responsible servant leaders. They have the experience and knowledge to guide ethical decision-making in an ever-changing business climate.

Program Benefits

• Priority Registration
• $1,000 stipend for approved study abroad programs
• $250 stipend for out-of-classroom professional learning opportunity, such as a convention hosted by a professional organization that a student will become affiliated with upon graduation like AMA, CFA Society, etc.
• Continuing education through Creighton’s Graduate Business Program including: “Creighton Advantage” for admission preference, free GMAT preparation and $1,000 scholarship for Creighton’s graduate business programs, good for up to 3 years following graduation

Program Requirements

• Freshman RSP (fall & spring semesters)
• Anna Tyler Waite Leadership Program
• Dean’s Honor Roll for Social Responsibility
• Mentor Program
• 75% annual attendance at all events
• Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.3
• Maintain high level of student integrity and character

Admissions Requirements

Round 1:
A 3.7 high school GPA on a 4.0 scale and a minimum of ACT test score of 27 or SAT test score of 1210-1240. Submission of the Heider College of Business Dean’s Fellows Program application by February 1.

Round 2:
Interview in-person during President’s weekend in February or a scheduled phone interview.
Thirty students will be selected and notified in the beginning of March when other scholarship notifications go out.

Waitlist:
Students placed on the waitlist, may seek admission into the Heider Dean’s Fellows Program after successful completion of their first semester in the Heider College of Business. Admission requires demonstrated success and alignment with minimum requirements of current Heider Dean’s Fellows and an interview with the Heider Dean’s Office.

Freshman Year
• Participation in ATW Leadership Program, level 1
• Complete min service of 24 hours/semester
• Dean’s RSP Section, featuring guided tours of Fortune 500 companies
• Mentored “Fellow”
• Participation with Annual Heider Dean’s Fellows Interview & Scholarship Competition Weekend
• Networking at Annual Dean’s Fellows Dinner

Sophomore Year
• Participation in ATW Leadership Program, level 2
• Complete min service of 24 hours/semester
• Serve as Heider Ambassador
• Mentored “Buddy”
• Participation with Annual Heider Dean’s Fellows Interview & Scholarship Competition Weekend
• Networking at Annual Dean’s Fellows Dinner

Junior Year
• Participation in ATW Leadership Program, level 3
• Complete min service of 24 hours/semester
• Serve as Heider Ambassador
• Alumni networking
• Mentor “Coach”
• Participation with Annual Heider Dean’s Fellows Interview & Scholarship Competition Weekend
• Networking at Annual Dean’s Fellows Dinner

Senior Year
• Participation in ATW Leadership Program, level 4
• Complete min service of 24 hours/semester
• Mentor “Executive”
• Participation with Annual Heider Dean’s Fellows Interview & Scholarship Competition Weekend
• Networking at Annual Dean’s Fellows Dinner
• Senior cocktail receptions
• Exit interview with Dean Hendrickson
• Honors ceremony with honors cord at graduation
